Highways and Byways

An excellent message in a relatable metaphor. So many people are so fixated on running everyone off what they view as a one lane road that they don't realize they could have already arrived at their desired destination. It can be exhausting. Pun intended.

As Johnny said, it can be exhausting, and a waste of gas.  Frugality can be a virtue.  I just thought of Tuck Everlasting with the turtle, or the turtle and the hare story.  Here's a motto, I get there when I get there (my first car had manual brakes, maybe that's how I came up with it).  :)

Evolution is not a race. Very true. Your point, there is room for everyone, also true- yet so many get squeezed out, or feel that way when one group rides rough shod over another. I could spit tacks we just can’t appreciate one another for whatever.
“Find your own lane/s:          
infinite choices exist—          
drive as fast as you want;          
keep your eye on the goal” infinite choices exist. So agree there. And here again, so many want to crowd into one lane for the nudge and squish! I very much admire the metaphors as you’ve written them with clarity and an appeal to which everyone can relate.  Giving you the street cred but totally swiping this idea when next family argument breaks out.
