Can you believe if I told I once walked on water

Can you believe me
If i told you
I once walked on water?
Back when I was young,
Wild and free.
Full of innocence
At peace like a child in a mother's womb
Shielded from this world's
Reality and cruelty.
I walked on water

Can you believe me
When I told you
I once knew how to fly?
I'd fly so high that when I land,
I'd land on the sky.

Before anxiety and depression
Settled in.
Before my thoughts
And this prison I lock myself in.

Now there's a whole in my sail
Try to swim to stay afloat
But there's too much weight on my shoulders
I can't even keep my head above water.

I look at the sky
And could only dream of the stars
That I once could reach.
My broken wing has fallen
And I'm quickly following
The light that once burnt within
Is dwindling.

But regardless of this
For better or worse
Don't look at me and see the dying of youth,
See me as a testament of the truth,
An offspring of the world so cold.

Can you believe me
If I told you I once walked on water?
That I once saw stars, dust and galaxies
Back when I used to fly?
