Musings
Terraced paddy fields
On gentle sloping hills
Gently swaying grasses
Tall upon the plains
Shifting fluffy clouds
Shading the land
From too much sun
I hear the melody
Of bamboo flutes
A singer’s lilting song
In accompaniment
Distant calls of children
Barking of dogs
Boisterous laughter
On this bamboo floor
I sit and listen
To the bubbly brooks
The chirping birds
Harsh calls of hornbills
Splashes of darters
In the oxbow lake
Hugging my thoughts
Close to my heart
I know I will never leave
This land for another
To live, love and die here
Is my ardent wish
My tropical paradise
On gentle sloping hills
Gently swaying grasses
Tall upon the plains
Shifting fluffy clouds
Shading the land
From too much sun
I hear the melody
Of bamboo flutes
A singer’s lilting song
In accompaniment
Distant calls of children
Barking of dogs
Boisterous laughter
On this bamboo floor
I sit and listen
To the bubbly brooks
The chirping birds
Harsh calls of hornbills
Splashes of darters
In the oxbow lake
Hugging my thoughts
Close to my heart
I know I will never leave
This land for another
To live, love and die here
Is my ardent wish
My tropical paradise

You always fly me to the place under the mango tree, sidewalks with the fakir, show me the peacock dance, the chants of Tibet.
Thank You; also for reading and commenting.

I was wondering what had become of my poet of exotic paradises.
I love it, Grace.
Congratulations.
Thank you for the generous breath of oxygen.
What makes me forget for a while, My claustrophobic thoughts.

Luca; that is my land of endless sunshine. Claustrophobic thoughts should be diffused often. Thank you for dropping by, reading and commenting.
Thanks!
