My Sunshine
With such fullness and warmth,
your heart sings a tune of reverence
...like a sunshine lullaby.
And winter no longer aches,
nor do I mourn the absence of summer's flowery song.
I am but a frigid and hollow instrument
...'til your soft notes
waltz into my blackened periphery.
your heart sings a tune of reverence
...like a sunshine lullaby.
And winter no longer aches,
nor do I mourn the absence of summer's flowery song.
I am but a frigid and hollow instrument
...'til your soft notes
waltz into my blackened periphery.

Re. My Sunshine
Gorgeous ink, Pandy... a sunshine lullaby, what a great simile to make you smile :). I also loved how you directly contrasted it following with 'winter aches', the 'absence of summer's flowery song'. You really personified the life this person breathes into you... I really liked it :)
I always love reading your work! Hope you are well, and thanks for sharing,

I'm blessed it could bring a smile. Through the blessings he's brought to bestow a smile on my face, was it brought to fruition. I found a sunshine lullaby to ease winter's brittle existence. Thank you so much, I appreciate your comment and presence, NB.🙏♥️

Little tickles up the back of the spine and neck reading this...a warm breath, a cool breeze, longing, delight...you brought so much forth with this little beauty. You are proof in quality over quantity. You don't pour a dozen pieces at at a time on the screen, but when you do drop one - it's a beauty.

Awww, bless you. I could just hug you, a bigger one than usual! I nearly closed it all down this morning...then wrote something even shorter. ...I'm in a weird limbo, and that cool breeze here doesn't help.♥️

Your poem was the most consoling sunshine I've had the pleasure to experience. The image suggested a young woman comforting an older man. Such a tender expression of love that transcends age. This rises to the level of love's highest aspiration. The tenderness here makes my evening weigh less heavy.
And winter no longer aches,
nor do I mourn the absence of summer's flowery song.
I am but a frigid and hollow instrument
...'til your soft notes
waltz into my blackened periphery.
Your poetry sings to me like the song of a nymph from ancient myth. There is magic in them there verses. And I would be fain not to drink it in.

John, your comments are truly blessings to me. I'm so glad you understand and enjoy the humble crumbs I offer, you always make me feel like I'm doing something right! Your happy spirit towards them, adds beauty to my experience in the Deep as you know I've had a bitter tug lately. I'm incredibly indebted to you, sweet man. Your praise is a sunshine lullaby in itself!

Simply beautiful. I'm reacquainting myself with your style: soft, delicate, and extremely genuine. I love it. Nicely done.
