Things I Hate_004 (NaPo #26/30)
Sports,
I hate almost all sorts.
They cause injury, conflict, hatred against fellow man, and violent personality changes from head injuries,
The interesting things about almost all sports, remains to me, mysteries.
Like the head injury inducing football,
The similar rugby, and the murder causing soccer er- football.
The boring basketball, baseball, almost identical softball,
Uninteresting kickball, dangerous and over-glorified dodgeball,
The professional hot potato with exess sand sticking to sweat, that is volleyball,
Nearly identical tennis and badminton,
Golf on grass that is too short,
Or the too cold and boring, and on too hard ice, hocky or curling sports,
Sweaty, painful, brusing, wrestling, boxing, and kickboxing.
The lack of things that go on in track and field, or pole vaulting,
Gymnastics is not too interesting either,
And I don't really care for professional swimming either,
Out of those sports, I really only like recreational swimming, mini-golf, and table tennis,
But I can say this...
I do really like the intelligent, high-class, sports and games of archery, bowling, billiards, axe throwing, and falconry,
And also croquet (don't mind so much the short grass for that), checkers and chess,
The others are such a mess.

Heh, glad to know I'm not the only one :P
I never understood the appeal too much either. I can appreciate the time, training, and dedication it takes, but was never too keen to sports myself. I was that kid who stuck to himself with headphones in!
Anyway, keeep on truckin', as the finish line is in sight. I enjoyed this lighthearted read.

I wasn't the one playing sports, I was the one in the marching band. Of course, we put in just as much time and effort but were never seen as a sport, or given the funding!
