BORROWED TIME
All the time we have on earth
Why do we take for granted?
The little things matter most
When honesty has raised its voice,
The truth of, “If only I had more time”,
More time to love,
More time to live,
More time to waste instead of cherishing life…
What has passed me by, I’m not even sure,
Because I’ve been floating with no direction to my purpose in life…
What matters to my heart was put on hold with the hope that
I had more time to get to it…
How I was wrong,
How I wish I took my borrowed time with the urgency it deserved,
Then my tears would be those of joy rather than pain,
The pain of loss,
Yes, I lost it,
I lost the time…
Oh God I wish I did things differently,
I wish I lived my life with, “Thank God I did it”,
Rather than “If only I had more time”.
