Dawn to Dusk

Soft subtle
Light emerges from the horizon
Defusing the twilight clouds.

A delicate palette of yellow, orange and blue,
Ignite the sky setting it ablaze.
Under the pale light shadows
Cover the ground,

Animals rise breakfast to find.
The world stirs, ready or not
A new day dawns.

Morning introduces noon.
Rising to the skys highest peak
The golden orb dominates,

Scorching heat, capable of  distructive fire.
Its blinding light eliminates all shadows
Forcing animals to return underground.

Neither Man nor nature
Can tame this fierce beast.
It is outside their sphere of control

Sunset approaches,
The glaring medallion
Is sinking into the horizon.

The delicate dawn colours
Striking, deep and rich.
Heavy, dark shadow form,

The world winds down
Animals reappear scurrying about their business.
The last slither of light disappears, it's evening,

This day is complete.
