We've always been ride or die
Corny for sure
We've also held each others fears
when life and love got seriously hard
Almost losing your wife and 1st born baby
couldnt even define hard
baby number 2  
maybe shes not for you
suicidal~ly  and damn you hard
Yet here they both are
Losing incomes and chosing to live on one
ridiculously hard
Almost losing yourself and life partner to PTSD and addiction demons
never ever forget stupid hard
Do we try harder or do we call it quits  
the worst kind of fucking hard
sleepless nights, gut~wrenching
finally finding God hard
Acceptance  
this one makes you look at yourself
endlessly disturbingly hard
Seriously corny
We've been through it all
That life changing spectacular diamond
that came with a whisper of a promise
that prompted a tearful yet hopeful yes  
dreams of a whirlwind romance and love affair
for all of Hollywood to desire and crave
Life doesnt work that way in the least
Or does it?
Who would have thought that one simple answer
and 2 pieces of dollar store plastic  
would make life so crazily happy
and create such fantastic humans
that we would someday call our daughters?
Forever changing and altering
our seriously corny lives
and completely and utterly defining
who we are  
right now
in this very moment
Husband
Wife
Mother
Father
Survivors
Lovers
Best friends
Hardened cruel enemies at thee worst of times
Through it all
I would not change a thing
No death
No career
No mental health
No addictions
No mistakes
No amount of shit life gave us could stop
this amazingly corny yet deeply serious bond we share
created with blood, tears, smiles and sweat
peppered with sadness and laughter  
Our beautifully phenomenal life
Our mistakes
Our love
Our tiny family
Ourselves
Our seriously corny
Us
Me
