Dementia
I'll kiss the tears from your soul, defeated optimism
will absorb your pain sustained
from the battle zone.
Another fight you fought alone too often.
I will sit next to you, when your spirit abandons you,
And you need mine to find yours. Will be caressing scars,
softening by time and love,
Be your healer of stinking wounds. I will take with me the drink,
to toast on our love,
when you remember briefly
who I am.
will absorb your pain sustained
from the battle zone.
Another fight you fought alone too often.
I will sit next to you, when your spirit abandons you,
And you need mine to find yours. Will be caressing scars,
softening by time and love,
Be your healer of stinking wounds. I will take with me the drink,
to toast on our love,
when you remember briefly
who I am.
