Rule Us With Fear
When does democracy work?
Is it the few that speak for a people
Who determine our fate
Who silence our voice
Cry freedom
Are the whispers of revolution
It’s a simple statement
Give us independence
Shame on a government
On a prime minister playing on his phone
That denies the mandate
Given to our representatives
We might not be spilling blood
To get our point across
I suppose peaceful stances are never
Taken as seriously as a war
Why not set up checkpoints
On British soil
To keep the rabble down
Trump will back Johnson
We are immigrants
In your living room
Why not just shoot us
For trespassing or ….
Put us in concentration camps
Rule us with fear
Make us wear thistles
Like the Jews and the Star of David
Is it the few that speak for a people
Who determine our fate
Who silence our voice
Cry freedom
Are the whispers of revolution
It’s a simple statement
Give us independence
Shame on a government
On a prime minister playing on his phone
That denies the mandate
