i make this mountain mine
“Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the
mystery why we climb.”—Greg Child (Born: Apr 12, 1957, Sydney, Australia)
what though the road lies rugged there before me
every bruise draws me closer to the finish line
it is an uphill journey but it lures me
for i seek treasure at the summit that is mine
§
way up above the world though storms detour me
yield i not to the struggles of the steep incline
along the way ill comes that would devour me
but i fight with a spirit no man can confine
§
the cookie trail of blood cannot restore me
that i leave thick on every leaf and creeping vine
sword-sharp thorns cannot cripple anymore me
as i cleave to the pathway dark and serpentine
§
heaven in view because your arms shall cure me
when my last breath propels me to your side, supine
all my song shall describe how i adore thee
for your kiss shall confirm i make this mountain mine
