at the dawn of my rebirth

♪for a bruised soldier rising♪

when my sky_ fell out from under me
i became one with The dark
when my boat tipped over in the sea
i wAs noah void of ark

i have navigated all my life
with the heavens as my guide
now the stars impale me like a knife
as the bLood seeps from my side

shall i ink the oceans with my stain
     clutching at a fragile straw
shalL the sun not rise for me again
can’t the strife end in a draw

gone the birds’ wing-whispered melodies
gone the hymns that reverenced low
at the dancing of thE galaxies
how the world is silenced now!

let me melt into the netherworld
far beneath this crust of earth
for a new sky_ shall for me unfold
at the dawN of my rebirth…
