Dead End Road
Walk down a dead end road and look around
Notice the stillness and silence and drink it in
Look at the abandoned shack off in the distance
See it's ramshackled pieces upon the ground
Imagine how beautiful it may have once looked
Hear the wind rustle through the prairie grass
The tranquil song it whispers high on the breeze
Sway back and forth along with the trees pretending to be a child again
Take yourself back to when life was simple and love was free
Where being humble and kind wasn't as scarce as it is now
When you need qauters to make a phone call in public
Back to when saying how you felt wasn't so frowned upon
Take yourself back to siiting on a front porch with your grandfather
Listening to him talk about the good old days
Taking in all he said anf remembering the lessons of life he told you
Take a walk down a dead end road and who knows where you will go
Notice the stillness and silence and drink it in
Look at the abandoned shack off in the distance
