What Will They Think Of Us?
What will they think of us when they read about us?
About the wars we engaged in over governments and creeds
Or the lies we’re told in the auspices of things to come
When we lost our humanity under pretentious greed
Will they weep for us when they study our history?
When we destroyed Mother Earth to live beyond our means
Because one day she will rise against us and take it back
And upon our ruins a new society will realize their dreams
When will we ever learn the true meaning of harmony?
That the original particle still runs in you as it does in me
In spite of the deities we worship beyond our comprehension
Regardless of our differences, kindness should be our legacy
How will future generations and civilizations see us?
When the avarice spreads through the masses like cancer
Will they see us like we see our past from days long ago?
In our lifetime, will we ever be able to find the answer?
