LOL - the Birdies sounded like they were inside my domicile!!
I didn't realize my speaker was that good. Wonderful sounds, though

Re: Re. Garden Meditation
Thank you. I wandered round the garden with my MacBookAir and was amazed at the quality of sound it picked up. Even a distant cuckoo bird about 2/3 the way through. {And I'll tell the birds about the RL; I'm sure they'll feel honoured} :))

What beautiful surroundings you have. The birds sounds like a chorus at one point. Sir, you have truly reached zen in this garden.

Thank you Wally - you wouldn't believe what it looked like 10 years ago - mainly rubble and scrub-land - hence the need for humus/soil/worms production. { I only photoed the better bits :)) }.
I think the 'chorus' bit of the birds was when a flock of birds just happened to fly overhead as I was recording.
I find Nature takes the opposite approach to a competitive world (ie: you give an inch, and She offers back a mile). I'm astonished as what has grown in such a relatively short time.
Must go and do the watering now - we've had 3 consecutive days of 32-36degC and plants/soil is drying out.

Thank you Summer, and for the RL - we have more birds since the firestorm of October 2017 burnt so much of the surrounding countryside - so our garden has become a bit of an oasis for them.

There are many birds around here because there are many trees and many bats too so their sounds are mingled. Maybe I should try recording their sounds.:-)

It's only when I started to try and record the birds a couple of weeks ago that I began to tune in my ear to the differing sounds.

The bats give a shrill sound specially at dusk and early morning. But the different sounds are distinguishable.

Thank you A - well, I think after 10 years I'm happy to hand on the baton to the next lucky owner, though there's always that feeling of "oh I can cultivate this next, and also that ... " Espelier fruit trees would be next on my list, replanting the bit that got burnt, currently in recovery whilst I keep adding to my biomass collector. :))

You're welcome. I had to make some room! Did you see the tribute I wrote for it yesterday?

Thank you, D. I'm instinctively more of a visual/olfactory person (couldn't give an indication of the flower aromas unfortunately) so listening to the birds and trying to record them has been an added dimension for me - though I always found the sound of the sea soothing when I lived by it for 10 years.

Ocean is about 15 minutes by car. I volunteer at the library and take a walk over the bridge at the Halifax river to the ocean shore twice a week or so. Sit down in the sun, just soak it all in. It's amazing to just be in the living moment, try to quiet the mind.

Thank you Willow, and for the RL. Hope your cats were not too stressed out wanting to catch a bird off the screen :))

Hi Jemac, glad you liked it - and thank you for the RL too. During the last month I kept taking more and more photos as the roses came out but decided to finalise it this last week. Now the plumbago is starting to come out for this year. Must go and do some evening watering now before it gets too dark.

Thank you Magic; I'm feel very privileged to have this half-acre 'playground' of Nature all around me and do my bit to 'enhance' it. Glad it evokes a sense of peacefulness.

Thank you, Harry. I'm so fortunate to hear the bird-song each day. And now is the season for watering the garden morning and evening each day for the next 4-5 months.

Thank you Rose - and for the RL. Glad you liked it. I have a busy week catching up in the garden; the roses are nearly all finished now but the albizia tree is just coimng into bloom. Hope to do a poem about it with a pic when it's fully out.
