The pains so deep, deeper than my soul
A constant comfort the only one I know

So far from the surface if only
Some relief..

Seeping ever deeper
Drowning in its sea...

Just want the suffering to end...
I want to be free...
A life forever filled with misery

I was thinking cancer too. Glad that's not the case. The rhyme has a nice cadence. I think a good technique to bring across your feelings would be to simply describe some surroundings or events. Your emotional turmoil will inexorably bleed through the milieu and paint an engaging portrait before the mind's eye.
