Awoken
Light gives way to dark and I rest
but only for mere minutes
as my mind has just awoken
it rolls thru sunsets and still waters
fresh scents of spring beginnings
and the dawning of nights end
it breathes with sounds of nature
and it stops to inspect the view
there's no rain tonight
eventho I hear thunder in the sky
comfort caresses my carelessness
and feel releases from the locket
upon my chest
I rub it gently and give it a tiny kiss
can't remember who the lady is standing there
but the memory of this gift
and your smiles are all I got left
sleep will come in awhile
before dawn dispells the peace
moments right here remain ingrained
reminding me to just only be me
but only for mere minutes
as my mind has just awoken
it rolls thru sunsets and still waters
fresh scents of spring beginnings
and the dawning of nights end
it breathes with sounds of nature
and it stops to inspect the view
there's no rain tonight
eventho I hear thunder in the sky
comfort caresses my carelessness
and feel releases from the locket
upon my chest
I rub it gently and give it a tiny kiss
can't remember who the lady is standing there
but the memory of this gift
and your smiles are all I got left
sleep will come in awhile
before dawn dispells the peace
moments right here remain ingrained
reminding me to just only be me
