All One Can Say

The sun limps across the horizon
a damp grey washes the roots
and a desolate urge begins to cry

It's been three days

drear settles in
pulls murk from my mask
but I cannot lie

a singular perk
a mouth full tango
swirled and imagined
blow up my otherwise empty mind

I see sunshine in ancient ruins
where laughter ruled the day
but the rocks I carry are heavy
crashing hard from a waning sky

my weight to much to bare
no help, no more care
I'll only rest for a minute
but it's too hard to go on

birds encircle high
blood's letting out my eyes
adoration held no attention

unmerciful gift me in obsidian
carry me off with these aching bones
I must walk, I must live, I must die
