Rain-kissed!☔️
( a Quatern )
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds,
For many years were dry from drought.
I rush outside and weep instead,
And dance my bare feet all about!
To see the puddles form throughout,
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds.
I dream of blooms, I sing and shout,
To know rebirth is just ahead!
I shut my eyes, tilt back my head,
And feel the shower soak my hair.
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds,
Imagine, blossoms everywhere!
There isn’t time to waste, I think,
Back in the kitchen, seeds to tread.
The flowerpots stacked in the sink,
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds!
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds,
For many years were dry from drought.
I rush outside and weep instead,
And dance my bare feet all about!
To see the puddles form throughout,

To know rebirth is just ahead!
I shut my eyes, tilt back my head,
And feel the shower soak my hair.
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds,
Imagine, blossoms everywhere!
There isn’t time to waste, I think,
Back in the kitchen, seeds to tread.
The flowerpots stacked in the sink,
I hear the rain-kissed flowerbeds!

Goes very nicely with the sighting of the first Hummingbird in my yard Saturday. Hung out my feeders yesterday.
Can't wait for the mid 60s later this week.

That’s wonderful, I adore hummingbirds! Do you put red food coloring in your feeders? I always did, and those lil guys are so territorial!😁
Thanks for stopping by sister, for that share.

No, but I do make my own feeder food for them. Three cups distilled water, one cup granulated sugar. Bring water to boil, stir in sugar, let cool. In times of hurry, I'll boil two cups, add sugar, then last cup of ice cubes (quick takeout meal). lol.
My feeders are red, so no need to the coloring.

Aah but that’s why I dyed the sugar water red... they looked so vibrant hanging around the patio, back garden, and an orange tree.🍊

It's the simplicity that gets me first.
After that, the exhilarating abandon becomes fuel for tear-induced raindrop dancing in which rebirth can become reality.
The refrain transposes seamlessly through the stanzas.

Hello and thank you, my cabcool friend, how lovely it is to see you here.
I’m honored by your thoughts on my new spring ‘tern, it was simply a joy to write, as it came to me in such a spontaneous way.
I hope today continues to be a thing of nature’s celebration for you.

Thank you, Jade.
I live in a land of four seasons different from yours: summer, summer, summer, summer.
Or, if you prefer, a land of two seasons: rainy season and dry season.
Your March 20 to June 1 Spring season is vicarious experience to me.

Your poem makes me want for rain, however if I danced in it, it surely would bring on the thunder and lightening!
lovely poem, energetic and very well written

A gracious thank you, dear Heather, for your embracing words. Yet still, I hope you will dance despite the thunder you may entice. It’s the lightning one should stay low from.
