Don't, Don't, Don't
I am not disabled
I am differently abled
I don't want to be treated
Like a man uncompleted
Not like half a man
Despite the cat scan
You don't have to talk loudly
Or adopt me so proudly
Don't talk about my back behind me
It makes me scream like a banshee
Don't treat me anything like a retard
Don't even treat a retard like a retard
Don't look down your nose
It's only you, you expose
Don't treat me like a child
It makes we feel defiled
A man who mocks disabled folk
Is not a man just a joke
A woman who also mocks
Her hearts retarded, full of pox
I might not have feet or legs
Just don't treat me like the dregs
I am a real man who needs love
Especially when nothing comes from above
From these hands, poetry flows
Despite few highs and so many lows
Rather than suggesting I take my life
Mocking in poetry causing strife
Just come and knock on my front door
There is something else my hands are for
Chicken shits that hide behind anonymity
Are not real poets and deserve your pity
Things like this happen on DU as elsewhere
Done in secret one day I will share
These people fear the truth
I am about to become uncouth
As in real life, I name and shame
I have no fear as I take aim
The truth will out
There will be no doubt
The predators and liars
Exposure requires
Action
