Image for the poem In Flight

In Flight

Justice misses by a city mile
The cops come just a bit too late
Transactions made, others denied
More meth heads having tried to score

But there's an angel that descends
Wings beating away my blues
She knows when temptation strikes
And my history of using speed

Grateful for comfort she provides
Lifting me up towards the sky
She teaches me her way with wings
No chemicals needed to fly.
