Our Captain
A just man now investigates
Some abuse from our man in charge
The silence solemn, but it grates
And consumes our captain, by and large
Quiet suspense is killing him
Recoiling from the latest probe
He tweets bold lies, each one a whim
Read, sad to say, around the globe
But his support remains loyal
From supremacists still on the move
Bringing racism to a boil
Swearing they have much to prove
He takes it to the borderline
Sends innocents back where they came
He sees them as intrusive swine
All subject to this country's blame
All this, and more, establish guilt
Subject to lasting scrutiny
Our captain's image starts to wilt
Confronted with a mutiny.

I just hope the orange headed, bastard son of Putin, ends up being blown down by karma before he sends us to Auschwitz. There has to be a way out of this nightmare. Excellent write dear Crowfly. J

The only way out may be impeachment. Who knows? The Dems seizing control of the House is a step in the right direction. Of course, much depends on Mueller's findings. The suspense is killing me. Thank you so much, J!

Crowfly, you should have a regular poetic-commentary in a newspaper. I'm sure it would attract more readers than the standard guff.
This one works especially well, scanning and zinging along real nice.
(You have the Trumpian madness ... but meanwhile next week in the U.K we will have some humungous Brexit madness to confront after Tuesday's critical vote. As an ex-pat living in Portugal the fall-out could be considerable - but somehow I still can't believe it's going to happen).

It might reach the American press on Wednesday of next week. I don't understand Brexit either, but if you want to read about it the best starting point is The Guardian on-line newspaper ( https://www.theguardian.com/international ).
