Change
I.
(An achievement)
Miles beneath my heels
Discipline in consumption
I am becoming
..
II.
(A happy moment)
Wind song on water
Sunlight on my upturned face
A seed of wild hope
..
III.
(A lesson I’ve learned)
Self love is central
Still radiating outwards
Ecstasy of pain
..
IV.
(A proud moment)
I teach you English
Amidst our conversations
You teach me of peace
..
V.
(My wish for the future)
Versatility
A touch of unflinching warmth
Rough hewn horizons
(An achievement)
Miles beneath my heels
Discipline in consumption
I am becoming
..

Wind song on water
Sunlight on my upturned face
A seed of wild hope

lol my back still hurts a bit from shelving books on the low shelves yesterday. I wanted to walk the bridge over the river, but after a few hours, I was tired. :P

"(A happy moment)
Wind song on water
Sunlight on my upturned face

I love your happy moment one.
"Sunlight on my upturned face".
I can feel mine radiate.

the journey continues....each moment observed, crafted, relished, faced..in the battles, in the becoming.
this is superbly done Daniel, I loved the essence in the title, & the 1, II & V haiku esp. you are an inspiration, write on shine on:)

Thank you Vandel I really appreciate it. Check out this video my friend Teri sent me just now. It really warms the heart.

It is always astounding to me how rare an act of compassion is. I don't have much to give, but I do feed a family of local stray cats lol. They live under my neighbors house and emerge from a hole in the skirt like a little door when I bring them a meal, the kittens mewling, mama is more cautious.

Thank you Brenda *hugs* I can't wait to read it. Sitting here with my feet cold and begging for socks but glued to the screen a while longer before the demands of the evening meal call me away. Haha. Hope you have a wonderful holiday. My brother is bringing all his grown children to visit soon. The boys bearded and portly, the niece lanky as ever, I imagine. :P

Thank you. 2018 was a journey for me, more so than many years prior, so I wanted to touch on the things that affected me most deeply.

Aw thank you. 💖 One of my shortest writes and it really resonated with people. I'm so grateful for that. Namaste.

It just goes to show that short and sweet is often preferred to more complex poetry. Either way, it was my pleasure :)
