“I’m generally a dweller in the dark.”
wandering around in my own created world
only myself I answer over choices
keeping heart and soul darkened to feelings
I’ve lived alone dwelling in the dark for so long
been down roads of unknown destinations
dim path I wander aimlessly looking for nothing
interactions with enlightened souls
confuses this blackened heart and mind
challenges to step away from this life of darkness
more they come around happiness replaces sadness
lips form irregular smiles with just a thought
hearing soft voices in the night instead of eerie silence
feel so different within myself these days
still a dweller in the dark time to time
but now I’ve seen light I don’t dwell there long

I don't like nor appreciate darkness/ it smacks of total destructive negativity/ I blinds my already half blind eyes/ to see tormented kinds /seeking refuge in the darkness

Dark prepares us to appreciate and integrate the light - lots of time in the dark helps us take a spark of light and turn it into something beautiful - like you have just done here, taking Crow's comment and evolving it into this wonderful poem.

Can really relate, though. I was just thinking the other day how I live in my head(which is a dark place), and not this world.
