Oneness

 
I drank from an obliging daisy drops of sunshine
they fused with my soul
radiating from my inner being
the cosmic rays of understanding
my third eye open and I knew God

within a vision of telling all time stood still
I stood atop a mountain
and the face of creation witnessed my awakening
the trees all whispered my name
saying "child of the dawn record what you see and hear"

so I watched intently as eons unfolded
I saw myself born and reborn
reincarnated to live and die
making the same mistakes in each life
the moon spoke and said, "do you see?"

I sighed heavily and wept
the guardians of the great door of knowledge
said, "it's time you enter"
so on shaky feet, I came into the halls of wisdom
and drank deeply of the elixr of life
knowing it would heal me

instantly I felt the heartbeat of the place
I was one with the universe
my eyes eased open for the first time
and I knew my place within the vastness

I was the heartbeat that pumps blood through the trees
the wind that blows across the open planes
the mountain upon which I stood
