hope in the skies of the broken

 
my eyes awaken to the day
misfit child of Venus
stretching and evolving
inside me a knowing
the truth fled, I chased her down
 
a lifetime of hurt
anger my mother
at her breast, I drank
and spew rage
hatred my native tongue
I spoke fluent pain
 
in the darkness, I grew
the light blinds one such as I  
backward and alone
the sun spell my name
it called on me to answer for my crimes
what is done in the dark comes to light
secrets held to my shame
the name of the game  
was lies in my eyes
 
then you came in and saw me
the person I could be
you loved me in my silent times
when I couldn't utter a word
