Dearest
i dream of you
in hues of azure
dream of erasing
the winterblues
with strokes
of hope
in our hands
a palette of
promises
shades of
us, waiting
to be painted
turning the dark
into a work of art
blending blues
on astral canvas
fusing in azure
if and when
i promise this
i will call you muse
in hues of azure
dream of erasing
the winterblues
with strokes
of hope
in our hands
a palette of
promises
shades of
us, waiting
to be painted
turning the dark
into a work of art
blending blues
on astral canvas
fusing in azure
if and when
i promise this
i will call you muse

This is lovely and contemplative, Duende. 📝💑
I also like the art you've selected to accompany it.
Because you've used azure twice, I would suggest replacing one with cerulean ( synonym of azure ). It would work beautifully in either place. ❤

Thank you so much for your comment and suggestion, Ahavati
The art partially inspired the poem and as for azure... the competition says "Choose one colour blue" (I almost went crazy with the blues and put indigo, sapphire etc in it) I will think about it... cerulean sounds lovely :-)

turning the dark
into a work of art
I stopped here and thought 💭 excellent usage of dark, it brought light to mind...
I could see you or your hand painting in the dark envoking light ! Wild strokes of blue like a mad woman, ( intense ) stroke after stroke ..
Excellent poem dear Duende
Zazzles Xx
Ps good luck in the comp!
I’m hosting a campfire haunted stories Halloween comp soon I do hope your around to play!

Thank you so much for commenting and mentioning dark, dear Zazzles... initially I used the work night, "dark" was the last edit I made...
Halloween comp... stories... interesting! Let's see if I can get that dark side out ;-)

Fine work Duende, with all the shades of blue. I know it must have been a struggle. Azure twice? That doesn't bother me at all and the poem works extremely well. You might try "turquoise" though, if you haven't thought of that already. Good luck with the comp!

Thank you, Crowfly
Turquoise is actually my favorite color, but azure (and muse) came to mind when I saw the comp. I prefer to keep it as it is :-)
I really appreciate your thoughts and am honored by the RL! More shades of blue (including turquoise) can be found here, but it's no must of course...

Absolutely life the color work and the turning shadows into shades of hope. I also really enjoyed the layout and pacing of the whole thing, this feels like an experimental departure for you. I think it works really well, keep spreading your wings

You should see the smile on my face :-)
At times I write a bit more experimental and this is where i hope my writing will evolve into. I love working with colors, did it in the past and might go for another one...
Thanks heaps for your enthusiastic comment, Taurus!

Thank you so much, my friend, truly honored by your words of praise!
You made me smile by mentioning the title... the working title was "Muse" until I decided to veil her till the end. Tried a few others and thought "Dearest" it is :-)
Always delighted to see you on my page...

Not once have you ever disappointed in your writing, beautiful sister mine. You waste no words and pack each line with so much emotion and meaning it steals the breath. You move me every time you write. Even when I simply sit in silence and make no comment...I'm moved.

My sweet sister, you moved me too with your comment.
That it steals your breath means more to me than words can express. I'm starting to write more pared back than before and I happen to be very fond of this piece... that she made it into your reading list means a lot. Thank you <3
With love from your sister, D

What a beautiful piece on your "poetic canvas" bringing blue from dark to light, enjoyed this very much.
