Chaos of deafening screams
Reality has fled, left with only daydreams
Here I stand in mental confusion
Tears of disillusion
God help me please
Souls dropping today to their knees
Anyone have a tissue
Blood, guts, no glory, no wishes
As a nurse, is my existence mended into someone else’s pain
Last breath, last rites, never to feel or see the rain
God, I look to you each and every day
People have love, faith, yet, for the ones swept away
Is their justice in death after the last breath
Eyes closed for eternal rest
Can souls see, can they feel our grief
Will Heaven pour their tears to give us earthly relief
Chaotic deafening screams
Peace be still, so serene
So loud I can’t drown them out
Pastor I sit in the pew, yet, this scene is nothing to shout about
Man gives liberty, God permits death
A coat to embrace the coldness, the stillness that remains left
Live life, when the crossroads we come to
Unexpected hollers for one last just due
Archangel Azrael, has the book of life in his hand
Page open, for woman, child, or man
The last breath surrendered, the first day of your life
Gabriel’s horn heard to announce entrance, or denial of strife
Bow daily as you live
I’ve seen the look of death, when the organs have no more to give
Love, even if you hate
This world shall pass, the pride of your praise should always be Heaven’s Pearly Gates
Chaos of deafening screams, a kiss to the afterlife as souls fly
In this moment in time, I am remembering the sky
