A Night to Remember

Silent footsteps and black attire
Clouds kept cover and no blunder
Elegant moves smoother than a cat
Controlled breathing quiet at that
Tiptoeing upstairs steady but swift
Not a creak from this stealthy ghost
Invading intruder ill-omened and insight
Treasures he seeks and to ruin my life
The water ripples not as he walks on by
Sinister echoes heard as the wind roars
Like a bird in the night I hear him soar
It’s too late he’s dissolved into the night
I open my eyes to find I’m lost of sight
A thief who came by whilst I fast asleep
Left my house holding my security
