Poles Apart
Trailing behind the sun
Clutching onto the last beam of light
The heavens are gone
Blackness has fallen
Alone he sits on a bed of stars
From their distance they whisper
The sound of pity resonates in the air
He waits
He waits
Hoping to catch a glimpe of golden warmth
But at the horizon nothing peaks
So he sinks back into the dark of the night
Never knowing the beauty of the day

Tipsy Love
I dont remember what we did
I felt like I could do anything
I was drunk on what we had
Now I'm left with this shit feeling
This feeling won't go
Maybe one day I'll do it again
But now I'm sobering up
With the bitter taste of coffee
Here's a toast to the next time I'm drunk on love

Smile
Its hard to care for a person who loves you so much
It breaks your heart knowing that that smile
The one latched on her face
The one you see every morning
It holds onto the cliff of false hope
Eyes begin to water
But the heat is firmly away from your heart
You feel the ice cold blood
Pumping evil through you like a disease
She doesn't know it
Through the mask of a hero hides a villain
She's under the impression that you're hers
And that she's yours
What she doesn't know is that's not the case
A man of many faces she's fallen for a snake...

A Day to Remember
This morning I met the woman of my dreams
I told her she was the one and she smiled playfully
She had shiny black hair; red lips; and eyes that gleamed
I skipped work so I can stay with her and grab a coffee
We talked and talked and she made me weak at the knees
Climbing the sky we didn’t notice the sun shining brightly
We left for lunch she held my hand; her face began to beam
We made a plan and in that plan I asked her to live with me
She packed her bags and my heart was singing with glee
We stayed in bed that afternoon; watched the swaying...

Dream
Bridging between life and the other side
I’d like to stay here
Water runs underneath; worries are left behind
A sunless sky shines
Shapeshifting into fantasies; wind is never felt
Stars are all around us
My mind is in my body and my body in my mind
Feelings are illusional
Pain is temporary but sadness remains fixed
When all of this is gone away
But when joy arrives I’m light
The sky shines
Misery is an outcast; contentment reigns
The peasants are rich
Reality is a little different but it’s unnoticed...
I’d like to stay here

Lonesome
Accumulating dust on my heels
Sweat on my brow
The days seem so long
And the nights are cold
I’m waiting for the end
For something so good
And the beginning
Of something rather great
There’s not much else to do
But to head on straight
Down these twist and bends
Forked paths leave me confused
But the landscape on either side
All look the same
And this place leaves me confused

My mind whizzing with thoughts

A Night to Remember
Silent footsteps and black attire
Clouds kept cover and no blunder
Elegant moves smoother than a cat
Controlled breathing quiet at that
Tiptoeing upstairs steady but swift
Not a creak from this stealthy ghost
Invading intruder ill-omened and insight
Treasures he seeks and to ruin my life
The water ripples not as he walks on by
Sinister echoes heard as the wind roars

Breaking out of my Cocoon
If these walls were thick I’d never hear the Earth
If these windows were black I’d never see light
And if this lock were fixed I’d be trapped inside
Because in this place I reside with my solitude
No friendships no ties just this lonely ancient room
Dust fills my eyes as everything remains intact
As time stands still even death has forgotten me
Because I’ve been living for too long unnecessarily
My existence is futile and my mind remains dead
So why has he not come for me? Whilst I waste air

Alarms going off and sprinklers all around us

Educating the Youth
I’ve always wondered why the museum
When taken on those deathly school trips
Visiting the plastic relics of history
Waxed built echoes of a great past
Educating us that we must learn
From the mistakes of the tyrants
That peace never lasts and silence breaks
Backstabbing and betrayals
Courageous cowards ruling all
A loop hole for centuries
And all the superior minds that fell
Into this twining twisted trap
But enough of the kings
What of the peasants?
When were we to be taught the truth
That we’re studying to rot

Backseat
I’m here on my own
The backseat is now where I live
Admiring you from behind
As you sit in the passenger seat
With him
He takes over the driver’s seat
That’s where I used to be
All cosy and warm you are
In the front two seats
I think the heater is broken here
Because a chill grows inside me
My blood freezes and my heart stops
As the frost builds on the window
I’m dying back here
But you seem to be unable to hear
Your eyes glued to the windscreen
Trusting him to take you
To where you wish you wanna be
But he’s just taking...

Locked in the Past
Tall emerald grass and the swaying trees
Why do warm memories always have a breeze?
The sun shines lazily and it’s at ease
You can hear the joy in the air with the bees
But in my bedroom I sit and plunder
Miserable clouds I’m crying under
The emptiness around calls out to wonder
Patiently silent, waiting for the thunder
But my thoughts lead me to an old memory
With laughing friends surrounding me
The smiling sun reaches through this tree
I’m asking myself how happier could I be?
But the loved summers and I have been widowed...
Why do warm memories always have a breeze?
