Untitled Humanity
Fractured beings exist in non-existence
Doing the daily dance of least resistance
No more love nor hearts to share
Caught in life’s unforgiving snare.
Porcelain skin, alabaster stone,
Always together, always alone.
Empty shells, our contents on our sleeves.
The burden of etherialism brings us to our knees.
Breaking free of the prisons we build.
Stepping behind the bars of the cages we have willed.
Our spirits cry and bend within flesh and bone,
Begging to be free, begging to be taken home…
Breathing in the lies, disdain and betrayal,
Watching as our guardians give up and fail.
Lost souls, grasping at straws, reaching for any light.
Battle born, weaned on blood, we are warriors, we fight.
Dragging anchors through the flames and dust
Wondering when ash and grime begin to rust.
Building walls, tearing down cities in our eyes.
Fulling our cups with much more than sickness and lies!
Nourish the weak, heed the strong.
You have kept your gaze on the horizon for this damn long.
Digging through the dark matter of what we ourselves have made.
All we can do is keep a wary eye and hope that one day pain will fade…
