Summer

Summer here is all mixed up;
it's not our growing season... and  
We're north of the Equator...  
so we know that's not the reason why  
  
We plant tomatos in November...  
and pick them 'fore July...  
Forget the lettuce and the kale  
Come summer they will fry...  
   
We live between the salty sea  
and the desert, sere...  
You'd never think so many different    
critters could exist here.  
   
Puma, Deer, Fox, Ja-ve-li-na... Skunk,  
Co-yo-te, Deer.    
   
By day Co-a-ti-mun-di's out.    
Ringtail and 'Coon at night.  
So there's enough for everyone  
There is no need to fight...
