Lazy Sundays

Lazy Sunday mornings,
When sunshine peeks through the curtain gaps.
Whilst everyone sleeps silently
Dreaming of love, family, and friends
Of adventure, flying and the odd bad dream too.
But always knowing deep down that when you awaken
The week is about to start anew.

Rolling over and remembering,
The smells of food cooking downstairs, as mum prepares the Sunday roast and the sounds of birds sing lullaby’s
Of
‘shhhh my darling you still have time to sleep’.

The smile that plays on your lips
As the warm body next to you brushes against your naked skin, knowing that you love and are loved.
Placing your hand against their naked body,
And
feeling that rush of adrenaline
That tells you, they
Are
Truly yours,
So you draw yourself that little bit closer and as they drift in that place between dreams and awake,
They reach out to you
And
Draw you into an embrace of safety,
of love and the future of what can
Be.

Lazy Sunday mornings knowing that no matter what is happening in the world outside your window
You can drift in that land together
Because in this time and place anything is possible
When you lie in true loves embrace
And the new week is still far enough
Away
To enjoy the peace
Of
The
Lie in.
