Mum
Mum
I try to remember the good times
But the bad just creep on in
I have one memory of being in your arms
You looking at me
And
There is a smile on your face
But
It’s not my memory
It’s a sepia toned photograph
Bound tightly in a memory book
I no longer look at
Mum
Why do you hate me so
Where was the love a child
Should be showered with?
Not once did the words tumble from your lips

Lazy Sundays
Lazy Sunday mornings,
When sunshine peeks through the curtain gaps.
Whilst everyone sleeps silently
Dreaming of love, family, and friends
Of adventure, flying and the odd bad dream too.
But always knowing deep down that when you awaken
The week is about to start anew.
Rolling over and remembering,
The smells of food cooking downstairs, as mum prepares the Sunday roast and the sounds of birds sing lullaby’s
Of
‘shhhh my darling you still have time to sleep’.
The smile that plays on your lips
As the warm body next to you...

Right Now
Sitting alone
Face screwed up in angst
Tears rolling slowly
Caressing
My cheeks
As it falls gently to land on
My open hand
As it wonders why
Why me
Yet again
Screaming at the sky
Begging for my own
Miracle
That never seems to come
Am I cursed
To always have my happiness
Broken and torn from me
The weight of my world
Rested solely on these two shoulders
Lies told to me as a child
That one day
I will live
happily ever after
Maybe
On the last day of
My life ...

One last time
I lay watching
As your chest rises
And lowers
With each beat of your heart
Mine beats too
Knowing that within
Arms reach
I can touch you
Knowing you are mine
When the last rays of
Sunlight kiss your face
And The shadows
Begin to creep in
Love is a fickle friend
Choosing where it goes
and leaving when it
Wants to
But this time
This
Time,

I will hold your hand
Until you can leave no more
Until the sky falls in

Leaving the earth...

The rock
The rock
Stands still
Eroded by time
Pitting on the surface
And greyed with
The trials of life
Well traveled for a rock
Picked up and placed
in pockets
Transfered from one
Place to the next
Thrown as friends laugh
And left
As friends cry
Sitting
Waiting
Patiently
For the next hand
To clasp it's
Uneven skin
To stroke it's
Hard mishapen surface
Alone
But never truly alone
The rock
A foundation
Of life
A life less known
Stands still
Eroded by time

The waiting
The fear
Creeping
Slowly inside
Consuming everything
My thoughts
My smile no longer my own
Owned by the unknown

Life and death hangs in
the balance
One second
Changes your life
But hope
Still lingers
I hope
I pray
That everything will
be ok
Only time
Will tell
Father time
Be gentle with me
My heart cannot break
Anymore
Creeping

Sitting
Tapping
Reading
Writing
As the minutes tick by
I'm waiting
For what?
For that quiet time
Between living and
Dreaming
The moment you feel
Your heart beat slow
And your mind begins to drift
To that place between
Sleep and awake
When your soul slips
Quietly
From your body
And joins the
Millions of other
Dreamers
Where you can be anything
And with anyone
Drifting silently
Amongst the stars
From where we were
First born ...

Rise like a Phoenix
Intimidated by the unknown
Limitations set within
Our own minds
Boundaries we don't wish
To cross
Through fear of what maybe
But not what has been
Lessons formed within
A pattern
Set
In the foundations
Of our mind
Unbridled passion
To be set free
Yet it flutters
Listlessly like
A
Dying butterfly
Falling on the breeze
Allow Lust to flow free
Allow greed and anger
To mingle
And be set adrift
In your heart of pain
join together whole
And become one with
the world...

Blank
A clean as a
Page in a diary
Long forgotten
Tucked away
In a corner. Gathering.
Dust
Cold
Frozen inside.
like an iceberg
Drifting in the wastelands
Of the antarctic
Glacial
for a million years
Loyal
Forever changing
To meet requirements
That others
Cannot lay claim to
And yet I meet
Every target set
Faith
Believing in the unknown
The spiritual being
That created us all
And still smiling
In the face of adversity
Because I do know
...
