BROTHERS  - -  - - Dedicated to Murdo Macleod

Forgiveness is a wonderful gift to get
But can be a very difficult one to give
Blood and water spill under the bridge
Flowing freely in unison and in pain
The fast rapids need to be ignored
There is never a quick fix that sticks
The cascading falls roar like a lion
I wanted to attack like a angry lion
The blood and water turn into wine
like souls, hearts and minds meeting
A good wine sometimes can take
Such a very long time to fully mature
Like the ice in this vodka it is now cool
The previous angry need to attack him
Dissolves leaving only clear bright water
The water is running pure like spirit
As is my more matured mind right now
This wine now three decades in the making
It now needs to be decanted and drank
Until the ten green bottles are empty
We can refill the empties with our choices
The good, the bad, the ugly, the anything
Choosing to forgive you was only step one
Attempting to start afresh is step two
I just might grow to love you again
Stranger things have happened my brother
We will always be brothers thanks to DNA
It would be great to become good friends
Peace be upon you
And hope be upon us both
