child of pain
i call to my pain
from deep in its depths
it answers back
"i hear you
but I can't feel you yet
you haven't connected with me
in sometime
you're a neglectful landlord
with a room to let
you leave me to keen
inside a black heart
eating what's left
of yesterday's tears
& tomorrows that never come
i sing the song of the lonely
of fallen hero's unsung
they went down with a fight
each & every last one
the emotions
that made you human
cast out into the night
left for the wolves
you watched
while they were eaten alive
you fail to cry for them
so i do
do you know me?"
"i'm the child that cries
alone
deep inside you"

My belief that Nietzsche nailed this thing called the "self" in his philosophy makes my understanding of this brilliant poem profound for me. All these "wills" within us are always fighting for dominance...the child struggles thru the aging process.

thank you dearest Harry I will have to do some research into what Nietzsche said concerning the inner child.. yes I believe the inner child struggles to be heard despite our jaded emotions.. I deeply appreciate your thoughts & insight on this write..

eating what's left
of yesterday's tears
& tomorrows that never come
These words bore a hole in my heart ... comforting our “ inner child” is a hard struggle.
Your pain shimmers in this beautiful piece
Beautiful ink as always

Very, very beautifully written about a lonesome heart..
Unfortunately, a feeling I know so well..
A friend I never wish I had, but it has become over the past years, my best friend..
Hopefully your child inside that beautiful heart will have a company other than pain nor loneliness..

Unfortunately this is more than accurate. A child of pain, especially those kept safe inside of us. We will always feel the tears. Thank you dear for giving us a voice.

So very deep and relatable.
You've gifted us with yet another stunning view of intense pain.

The emotions are denied, cast out into the snow, and that inner child cries. When this child is forgotten it becomes a tragedy. Sad work, but beautifully written as always Crim.

yes are I think we become disconnected
from our inner child at times
& they cry out to be heard..
I think mine was telling me something..

When our inner child hears only silence, no comfort, no warmth, they shrink ever further into a pained existence. I love when you give your child voice and love, my beautiful Dark Angel. We cannot heal our pain until we nurture the child within, can we? Holding you and your child so close in arms filled with love. So much love for you, beautiful, so much.

this one was a hard one for me to share
because it casts me in a light i'm uncomfortable with
but our inner child must be heard..
yes you're right to heal
we must nurture that child..
I love you..

My love, I believe we all have an inner child who screams continuously to be heard because of its most vital attribute...innocence...the one that tugs at skirt hems repeatedly until finally ears are ready, willing and able to hear them...although you may feel disconnected from this little one, it is clear in these words, you are not...she is too strong, just as you are to give up being heard...
I love you madly, deeply

thank you my love you're so wise
yes our inner child cries for our attention
because it has wisdom to give..
I have been a bit disconnected
from my emotions
in this case they bled through..
I love you passionately..
