sorrow
i lost myself
somewhere in the mist
the grey enveloped me
& recognized me
as one of its own
my soul reflected
the pain & ache
of the limbo
i found myself in
i felt my being
melt & become one
within this voided place
i had no voice
it spoke for me
with mechanical utterances
emotions illegal
they are caught
& put on display
works of art for the grey
who covets feelings
because it has none of it's own
beware of this place
it hungers for you too
the mist came one day
& shrouded my sorrows
now i long for the tears
It has captured

Misery loves company dear friend... you are one of the few here who I know writes with true sorrow, not just an unhappy day that got in the way of a sheltered life. Birds of a feather find comfort in the stinging mist...
Love your dearest Brenda!

Oh ... cyberhugs my dear sweet poetess. So sorry the glum drops are falling for you. I hope for you, like me, it feels better to trap them in a poem

It's like a blanket, falling over us and muffling any beauty found around us. When the sadness settles in all colors are muted, aren't they? We speak like echoes in a metal box, words falling flat. But your words are beautiful in their expression. And I'm sending you a million warm hugs, tight around you in these sad moments, my lovely Dark Angel. I do so love you...ever your Willow

"And then it became part of me and I would miss it if it ever left. I am talking about sadness." Jean Rhys. It true, it floats in and out like mist...

the mist came one day
& shrouded my sorrows
now i long for the tears
It has captured
Very powerful ... I can feel your pain, taste your tears in every word. Pain is tangible, pain is something that can be felt. Limbo however is empty and hollow ... herein lies the true pain.
Wish I had a magic wand to pull you out of this darkness
Much love
Wicked

I think it's the mist that dulls the mind. We'd be better off with the tears and other honest emotions. Powerful, sorrowful work about a grey and muffled world. I have become uncomfortably numb....

I respect your honest writing. I think you are the reason some keep fighting. When people read they are not alone and find themselves reflecting in your words, it's healing love.
Friends of a feather may flock together. However sorrow is displaced when friends surround you with grace.

Aww Crim, the heaviness of this soul deep pain is deeply felt.
Rest your head on my pillow of hope, doesn’t always brighten the clouded skies but sees me through to another tomorrow.
Such powerful lines, always left in awe of your talent.
Much love sent your way <3

My love, we have each spent many days lost in the grayness, at times separately and others together...I know writing of it at times is successful in parting the cover hovering above; sometimes not... but I do hope when I hold you tightly and whisper I love you it never fails to break through the darkness, as you have done for me so many, many times. Know I am holding you close to my heart now...
I love you passionately, madly, deeply
yours always & forever

Re. sorrow
"i lost myself
somewhere in the mist"- they came in the night, took the clothes off out back by torch light
"-the grey enveloped me
& recognized me
as one of its own"- enfold the darkness in me ,raised me from the monster i am
"my soul reflected
the pain & ache
of the limbo
i found myself in" -they broke me into pieces , fighting over which one would eat first. there was enough blood for everyone and the eyes they saved for desert.
"i felt my being
melt & become one
within this voided place"-like snow cream, they added vanilla extract.in a closed door room the wind blows cold, my skin cried and i knew it was time to go.
"i had no voice
it spoke for me
with mechanical utterances "- the shadows spoke back, the book slammed shut, and the white chalk pentagram drawn on the wooden floor... folded in half.
"emotions illegal
they are caught
& put on display" - like running around the car at stop lights , they cut the tattoos off ,stretched them over embroidery hoops;the numbers were their names
"works of art for the grey
who covets feelings
because it has none of it's own"- the canvases seemed to crawl off the walls with baby doll arms and feet, they knew what we were thinking and headed us off at the exits. i hid in the janitors closet until the screaming stopped. the silence was the scariest part.
"beware of this place
it hungers for you too" - thrones eat kings, mattresses eat their poor.
"the mist came one day
& shrouded my sorrows"- the mist broke out the grocery store windows, took what it wanted....but it wanted only the customers and clerks.
"now i long for the tears
It has captured" - the cradle turned black, the levy broke , Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Lovely write Crim.
you curl up around a world
crafted by the cunning like a crime
i'll be your getaway driver
with the power to manipulate time
so...do you like ever write a bad poem? lol
