Deja Vu, Haven't I Been Here Before?
Haven't I been here before?
Here at your gate once more
I have opened up this door before
If I do it again
Must I endure the pain
I last felt in the wind and pounding rain?
Woman you blew me away
Like a storm out at sea
Each night I Prayed for the break of day
I thought your blood was warm
Your passion sincere
But no, the heat of the moment I fear
Now with all of my past fears
In spite of my spent tears
My pulse races like it did once before
I would not hesitate
To open your gate
I want to look into your eyes once more
Here at your gate once more
I have opened up this door before
If I do it again
Must I endure the pain
I last felt in the wind and pounding rain?
Woman you blew me away
Like a storm out at sea
Each night I Prayed for the break of day
I thought your blood was warm
Your passion sincere
But no, the heat of the moment I fear
Now with all of my past fears
In spite of my spent tears
My pulse races like it did once before
I would not hesitate
To open your gate
I want to look into your eyes once more

I like this one because lately I have been experiencing deja vu like feelings and your poem expresses them perfectly. This poem touched me and I feel I can relate to it somehow. :)

A great perception of Deja Vu here, there is a competition running on this topic.
A heart-felt poem on a difficult decision. A great pen jj.

Thank you Anita! I am glad you like it!! I saw the contest, but I rarely enter contests, mostly because I have in the past and felt like my entries didn't even get noticed, but mostly because I don't like competing when it comes to poetry. I am a very competitive person when it comes to sports, but I feel like poetry should be inspired by a muse if I am going to write it. As this, and one other poem with a similar title could be entered, I just feel like no one will even notice them. I entered a collaborative contest about six months ago and the only person who seemed to care was the person I collaborated with, and I never collaborate on poems, so I was kinda pit off on both ideas. Esspecially when the person I collabed with vanished a few months later just when I thought we were beoming good friends. jj

It's funny that you found this poem, I wrote about Deja Vu in a couple of messages to different people yesterday and today.
"This stroke thing is just another chapter in a life where Deja Vu happens through a twisted fun house mirror, repeating but somehow just different enough to keep me guessing and wondering if maybe the next chapter will end in a different twist. But it never does."
I have another poem about Deja Vu, I think it is titled, "Deja Vu - Happening All Over Again".
