Forest Haikus 7.2
All Too Brief
brief serenity
But I must leave the forest
the rat race beckons
Forest Fire
my hearts forest fire
infecting my mind and soul
with longing passion
Forgotten
we used to get it
ancient woodland preserve
seems it's forgotten
Perfect
Nature is perfect
left to it's own devices
humans interfere
Spiders
bugs, worms and beetles
I am totally fine with
spiders are scary
Tiger
there are no tigers
in this forest I am in
there may be lilllies
Shield
forest canopy
regulates the heating
in sunshine units

Moments spent in the forest always pass too quickly for me. And yes, spiders are some creepy beasts. I leave them to their own devices in their nature environments, but in my house I set strict rules. And they abide or they die. I have my own enforcers on guard. Deep forest hugs!

O, so true....the tranquil visits to the forest can never last long enough! At heart, i am a true Nature girl, and really have no fear of bugs and spiders--just a great deal of respect for those that incorporate toxins into their defensive bites (lol) ( i tend to give them plenty of space!!)
As I have mentioned previously, i am very fond of your forest poetry, and these are some of your best! And..i must tell you, my favorite of this collection of Haiku, is the last one. I simply love your idea of the "sunshine units"...sort of like BTU's of sunlite!
Warm sunny smiles, and humongous hugs on their way to you, my dear friend!!

I think it would read better as

David, this sounds like a lovely afternoon and I'm sorry you weren't able to stay as long as you would have liked. I'm not one who ventures out in such greenery and it's nice to see it through your eyes...
