I listen
As you work away
Voice whispering
In my ear
Sultry tones
And a slight lilt
Sending shivers
Down my spine

Images of blue eyes
Staring back at me
As I place my lips
On yours and
Slowly caress your face
As you smile
Just for me

Laying on my bed
Earphones
Held tight
As your laugh
Inspires me to write
About you
For you

As you whisper
'Go to sleep'
But strangely
Too quiet without your words
As the sun begins
to rise
And my lids
Close heavy upon
my eyes

 I can no longer
Hold on to wakefulness
And you tell me
Goodnight
I fall blissful
Into dreams
Of smiles
And blue sky
And the night owl
Continues singing
