a city in flames
while in a deep sleep
I had a terrible nightmare
it was nighttime, I was walking
tried to find my way home
everywhere around me
the buildings were on fire
the smoke was so thick
I couldn't see
I put my sweatshirt
over my nose so I could breathe
I'd never been so afraid
I was desperately seeking home
across highways, over fences
I fought to get there
kept losing my way
in the thick black smoke
found myself circling back
to the place I started
I was about to lose hope
thought I would burn in the flames
when an old man on a bike appeared
the tandem kind
it was God he said
"i'll take you home"
I was immediately at peace
recognizing him at first glance
I got on, he told me
"this bike takes us both to maneuver
you have to do your part"
I pedaled hard and fast
taken safely to my home
my place of rest

Very inspiring Brenda. Sometimes the subconscious mind can reveal things you know deep in your heart.

Dearest Crim, it feels like your work is changing... going from darkness and despair to poignant insights! We need this to keep going, right? It sounds like a horrible dream, but if the outcome is something like this it was probably well worth it! Thank you for sharing!

you kept the inferno up in the details, Crim,
we could feel the horror of it...
we could feel the horror of it...

I believe it's because our minds aren't too busy and noisy to hear them when we're dreaming. I don't know about you, but mine is a very cluttered place when I'm awake!

No free rides with the Lord. I wish He'd upgrade to a car but He probably prefers to present a challenge. Thanks for sharing this dream Crim. It's one to remember and treasure.

My Beautiful Brenda, your ink caused me to pause for a moment...tried to recall the last time I was able to dream...what inspired Deeper was the last time...the time before that....I can't even remember...I wish I was able to dream more often...it would help me to escape more often...lol...gods know you know I need to... ;)
I love you my love...I am thrilled you woke in such a peaceful state...having felt comforted and blanketed.
With all my love - Taryn xoxo

Brenda.. lovely one.. dreams and nightmares are very powerful.. i hate the experience, and sometimes love it.. depends on the message.. of course most times, it's not always clear.. sorry you had that experience.. love you sis..
