Image for the poem Her Cool Hand

Her Cool Hand

All this fury, a burning mind
A struggle to resist the blade
The perceived need for retribution
When dropped by those who once had his back
Now stuffing their forms right down his throat
They laugh and say that it's no sweat
That he can manage on his own

His muse arrives to offer peace
A respite from the rage
Her caress provides the sweet release
So he can apply his pen to page.
