Drawn by the Moon
She stands among
the tallest trees
moon glistening
light between branches
to caress her face
it is cold,
but it doesn't matter,
the trees are coated
with soft snow that sparkles,
caught in the quiet breeze
undulating clouds of glittering white,
cascading in swirling dance
that gather moonstar kisses,
gently landing on rosy cheeks,
lips and tongue,
and all is well in her world
the tallest trees
moon glistening
light between branches
to caress her face
it is cold,
but it doesn't matter,
the trees are coated
with soft snow that sparkles,
caught in the quiet breeze
undulating clouds of glittering white,
cascading in swirling dance
that gather moonstar kisses,
gently landing on rosy cheeks,
lips and tongue,
and all is well in her world

Re. Drawn by the Moon
Best thing EVER to catch snowflakes on the tongue. But you're braver than I am doing it under trees! :D
But seriously, I loved the warm memories this conjured, Je.
Because you have requested honest critique, I want to honor that by the following offering:
She stands among the [I'd move 'the' to L2]
tallest trees
the moon glistening [do you need 'the'?]
sending light between the branches [Do you need 'sending' or 'the'?]
to caress her face
In essence, it would read
She stands among
the tallest trees
moon glistening
light between branches
to caress her face
You can tighten up a lot by removing excess wordage.
Again, I really enjoyed this and the memories it conjured in my heart. Very self-empowered and evoking work.

Thank you so much Ahavati for the read and thoughtful comments .. and the honest critique .. much appreciated ... I have tried to be less wordy .. but sometimes things slip by me ... I actually worked on making the bottom stanzas less wordy, but then forgot to go back over those first lines .. so thank you again .. ox

Serene piece. Evokes fond memories of nights in the Sierras staring up through majestic, towering redwoods and sugar pines at glorious blankets of stars. Brava!

your description holds such beauty that through reading it I can be there and feel that - now that's what I call poetry :-)

the stillness in your poem,
it's nature's diorama;
there's no artist like her...

"and all is well in her world" > snow (nature) can do that to us...
Such a pure and intimite poem, it was almost like I was standing next to you, sharing this beautiful moment!
