Life Misleading
We smile, yet our Heart is crying.
We live, although our Soul is dying.
We laugh, but we are full of sadness,
We're calm, although inside there's madness.
Who are we meant to be?
What are we meant to see?
When nothing is just what it seems
Why are we stuck inside this dream
within a dream.
We run, although we feel like walking.
We hear but, mostly, we like talking.
We look, although our hearts like seeing,
We sleep, although our souls like dreaming.
Who are we supposed to be,
Within ourselves contradicting
The very depth of our reasons for being.
I, myself, would rather be dreaming,
Where all is naught but what it seems,
A dream of myself dreaming.
Where rivers of the heart and Soul
Can be forever teaming.
Always one, always whole,
Never once misleading.
