under the moonlight
a
drop
fell to ground
shining brightly
albeit for a moment
reflecting the images
of the world around it
before assimilating
into the grains
of the sand
was
it really
the emotions
that had melted
to form that drop
or the cause was just
a single grain of sand
that had taken unto itself
to free the bottled up drop
that yearned for freedom
witnessing the images
of pain and hurt
from behind
the eye

First off... you should know by now that I love me some nicely shaped poetry :-)
The content was equally beautiful... to give so much meaning to a single grain of sand is something I haven't seen before! Outstanding write... pen bow to you!

You're welcome, my friend After reading back my comment I thought "I could have dropped the should" Sometimes I write before I think, but I hope you know I only wanted to compliment you! And yes... the shape was the first thing I saw, it really suits the poem :-)

I love when you work with rain and storms and nature in relation to humanity. It makes one stop to think and reflect on how connected we really are. Beautiful drops you've hung here. :)
