Candles

Flames flicker and dance
blue then orange then yellow
from blue to red to purple and green candles
the flickering flame never seizes to amaze
watch it dance to and fro
jumping and ducking
the light mezmorizing
as it leaps to catch the stray paper
quickly devouring its prey and spreading its heated poison
the darkness is destroyed
the light consumes everything
leaving not a shadow in its wake
all you can do is run there is no hiding
now that the light has been released
to wreek its havoc on the innocents that lived in the darkness
