Delirium
I've lost my touch, my edge
I'm all fucked up in the head
forced sobriety
has left me cold
empty and void
my switchblade a dull butter knife
that I frost the page with
sugary sweet confection
that makes me want to wretch
I miss that whiskey burn
that made me piss poetic fire
I'm a blank page
a hole that needs to be fucked
with a rock hard poetic cock
make me cream out my verse
in drunken delirium
writing without alcohol
is like masturbation and no porn
can't get off
cause i'm a twisted cunt
I've lost my touch, my edge
I'm all fucked up in the head

Re. Delirium
God damn!!! I could crawl into your mind, curl up, and pass out!! Your mind is not dull like a butter knife, it's as sharp as a razor blade!! Seriously, if you could see my facial expressions, and hear my histrionic commentary as I'm reading your work, see: the above God damn!! Lol!!
And one more very enthusiastic GOD DAMN!! About the pic you picked! So hot!

You always use the most incredible juxtapositions. Switchblade and frosting...You're like cut crystal...so many brilliant facets. ☺

Great write...reminiscent of Bukowski...
Love the artistic flare of the pic...if the pic's your handiwork, I hope you're doing something with that ability...

Brenda.. i felt every word, and doubt in this write.. we all know the struggle, that biased rhythm.. by the way that picture is perfect.. pussy and alcohol, are kinda of intertwined if that makes sense.. love you!!

From the outside looking in, inside your head looks like Wonderland. Can I come in?

I love how you displace the pain and uncertainty in art, Brenda. Gonna have to disagree about the lost edge considering you just won a comp. ;)

Your head seems fine to me Crim. I think this malaise will pass given time. Your talent's obviously still here, no doubt about it. I'm glad to see the note of "just writing out a bad day." You're a marvel any day at all far as I'm concerned. Excellent work!

Seems to me your edge is still razor sharp, Crim, a finely honed edge. Maybe when we replace the handle of the blade it just takes us time to get the feel of it again...

when I saw the title for this one I wasn't going to read it - after my last amputation I ended up with Post Operative Delirium - the scariest three weeks of my life so far - here I am 4 months down the line and I still have left over symptoms - thank fuck it was about the demon drink :-)
as always your poetry is wonderful :-)
