Heaven My Final Destination

I was on the freeway in gridlock traffic
holding onto my seat
as people dove in and out of lanes
afraid for my life
anxiety escalating

I became so weary of the drive
as we would pass homes
I found myself wishing that was my house
then I would be at my final destination

my body could finally rest
I was thinking of dying in fear
in a horrible car accident
or a lingering death by sickness

I found myself wishing I was safe in heaven
without all the pain
at peace at last

safe in the cosmos
in the mansion prepared for me
the one I dream of
a place of many rooms
where my soul is at ease
somewhere my whole family can come together

I'm weary of the journey
life is like traveling the freeway
so many twists, turns and scares
close calls and the like

let this be a prayer
just bring me home safe my creator
let me learn my lessons and bring me to your bosom

*Author's note these are things I really think about admist all the darkness
