Odyssey
drops little starred tab
rainbow colored creatures greet
with muted mouths
that talk without moving
I hear their musical voices in my mind
my head seems to expand
as I dance among the magical
tune in the television it talks
with light shows and coded messages
that are meant just for me
a fairy appears
she beckons saying
"follow me"
she leaves silver trails
down, down, down we go
into the great eye of Everville
where the t.v. people are alive
scared here
I sense demons
the white sharks on Animal Planet
can come through the screen
bite, tear into flesh
Stewie on Family Guy is a giant baby
with the ability to kill
the fairy tells me
"fear not I rule here
follow me, see my silver trails
this is my magic
let it guide you home dear one
out of this nightmare trip
blessed be"

Brenda, you might laugh but this reminded me of a dream I had not long after my dad died. One of those dreams of nonsense that for whatever reason strike one as fully logical at the time. I dreamt that faeries come through dryer vents and steal socks to take back for the lost souls. And I had an image of my dad with socks on and no longer with cold feet. I just buy more socks now and never complain. This poem suddenly brought that dream back to my mind. ☺

Reminds me of some lysergic acid odysseys I embarked on way back when. I love this whatever your inspiration Crim. It's a both a fantasy and a trip. Just remember what the dormouse said.....
