The Lion's Den
deep in the forest my soul floats
taking root in the mossy undergrowth
*
connects with the ancient ones
feeds my being the nourishment
of what was once lost along the way
*
a hard road in an asphalt jungle
slip and slide sideways
lose my footing
*
the Earth takes me in her bosom
sees a child that has wandered
too far into the danger zone
fast living and the like
*
connecting with her
and all that hums with life
recharges a lost girl
*
who stumbled and fell
awoke in the lion's den
the powers that be stood
and said NO not today

The first two lines drew me in immediately...
so much beauty in just two lines!
Love this one, dear Crim!
Such a pure and hopeful piece!

It's a rude awakening to the asphalt jungle, particularly after dreams (or memories) of a more magical world. The Ancient Ones and Mother Earth will guide us if we care to listen.
"connecting with her
and all that hums with life
recharges a lost girl"
I'll go with the life force over death wish anytime. That should protect me in the lion's den. Love your spirituality, lost girl.

The first 2 lines and I was hooked in completely. Beautiful write, Brenda! To reconnect with nature and heal...I wish everyone could experience it, even once. :)

This is the vein I absolutely ADORE, Brenda. Nature is the most beautiful healer I know. She just waits for her children to come home. Love and listed. xo

I am ashamed to say it took me this long to read this gem. Sometimes you just need time to reconnect with yourself and I think this piece conveys that message. Superb ink, my friend.
